How to Start Racing Bikes
At times it feels as if our Analysis Essays are always focused on what is broken about the sport of cycling. But as much as we may be frustrated by the status quo there is also a lot to love about the sport and we want to be a force for continuing to bring new riders and racers into the sport. That mission has led to the creation of a number of Guides on the TBD Journal including our recent Guide to NYC Bike Racing. Now we are stepping back a bit with ‘How to Start Racing Bikes,’ a guide full of all the things we wish we knew when we first grabbed a USAC license and signed up for a race. We cannot promise that it will provide all the answers, but hopefully it helps ease some of the many hurdles riders must clear to get to the start line of their first race. As with all of our guides, we’ll be updating this one over time so if you have additions or recommendations, feel free to drop us a note via the contact information on the About page of the Journal.
